Today I spent half of my day at University of Maryland, College Park. The environment was so nice. I walked down the street peacefully, quietly. I met Msn. Sarah Yun, David Yun, and Rebecca Forbes. They were all pleased to see me and congratulated me for my acceptance into UMCP. They also wished me to do my best freshmen year since it's the hardest. Then I finished my financial aid forms. After the papers were filled my dad bought me Chinese food. It was nice. Then I returned to High Point. Everything started to fall from there. I've spent so much time building this school up, but it only seems to break me down, furthermore, break others down. I can't give up though. I need to keep encouraging students to work hard, strive, and procure their futures. I need to keep tutoring them and encouraging them to do their best. Lastly, I need to be a good example. That's how I changed from a 2.83 student to a 4.0 student. I saw students who really had no future, but in the course of one year, they went from an all E student to an all A student. When I saw this, I thought, If they can do it, I can do it! To my surprise, I made it as well. I also tried to invite another person to church, but another person kept butting in our conversation, so I just went with their conversation. I will try to invite her again later. The key thing I want to point out though is perseverance. even when things get hard, don't give up. People often give up because things get hard and uncomfortable, but isn't that how we grow? We learn and build our strength from hardships. I mean imagine, we just gave up whenever things got hard. We only did things when they were convenient. We would be fat, lethargic, and horrid beings. So if you start a job, finish it. That's what my grandfather used to always say to me. I think that's where I got this mentality from. Also my organization and neat-freak characteristics probably come from my grandparents as well.
(Just things on my mind today.)
